MEDIATOR WORKSHOP: ROLEPLAY PRACTICE, REFRESHER TRAINING May 18, 2022 4:00-6:00 pm
More opportunities to do mediation are emerging - are you feeling ready, would you like to play with other mediators and refresh your skills?
Whether you're an experienced mediator curious about how fellow mediators handle challenging dynamics, a volunteer mediator on pause because other mediating opportunities haven't been available, or someone who has just completed Basic Mediation Training, this is a chance to "play," work on skills, receive feedback from experienced mediators, and get better at what we love to do. We'll use roleplays that match your desired areas of focus, and do our best to match you up with other appropriate folks to practice with (we'll send out questions on that to those who register, closer to training time.)*
This session is also open to non-CRG mediators who have completed a Basic Mediation Training course - if you're new to CRG, please tell us a little about yourself when you register.
Basic Mediation Training is for anyone who wants to increase their ability to deal with conflict or help others work through conflict. Whether you intend to be a formal mediator, or just want to develop skills that you can use in other professional or personal situations, this training is a good place to start.
Collaborative Resolutions Group is a court-approved mediation program, and its Basic Mediation Training meets Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Uniform Rules of Dispute Resolution training criteria. Training includes:
• Lively lectures and discussions, including exploration of approaches to conflict and ADR, mediation principles and processes, and discussions of bias, power imbalance, cultural humility and mediator ethics.
• Hands-on, practical focus, including mediation demonstration, communication skills practice and coached role-plays
• Experienced trainers and coaches
• Mediation manual and resources for continuing practice (including possible apprenticeships with CRG’s voluntary mediator roster)
• Attorney and social worker continuing education credits (MA CAFL and VT CLEs, MA CECs – approval pending)

MEDIATOR WORKSHOP: AGREEMENTS CHANGED DATE June 28, 2022 4:00-6:00 pm
We invite you to join CRG community members and other mediators to share knowledge and expertise in working with agreements. We'll be reviewing and adding to a list of best practices, exploring more challenging aspects of developing agreements, and developing "what to look for" checklists to make our mediation-related agreements more effective. We'll also be looking at responses to recent agreement-related litigation and the impacts on CRG practices and policies related to agreements.
Note: We will be asking all CRG roster mediators to either attend or watch a recording of this workshop, given the timeliness and importance of this topic.
* Training Registration Notes:Minimum enrollment required to run this training; space is limited. We will send additional logistical and other details on the event by email a few days prior to the training session. We request that if you register for a CRG event, you make every effort to attend the event for which you signed up, and that you notify us as soon as possible of any last-minute emergencies that come up. For cancellations within 24 hours of the event, or for no-shows, we reserve the right to charge a $10 cancellation fee for weekday workshops and 10% of fees for longer trainings (Basic Mediation Training, Intensive Mediation Practice, etc.).
